- Scientific name: Silene Vulgaris
- Family: Caryophyllaceous
- Other names: carletti, sc-iopeti, sizzle, grass of the cucco
They grow in sunny meadows.
You can recognize them because when you rub the leaves together they make one sizzle, they are smooth, not to be confused with other herbs that are hairy.
Only the top that sprouts in spring should be collected, the most tender part.
I tried it in a pan with oil and a little wild garlic, very good, it has a delicate flavor.
