For this study of an ornate element from the Renaissance period, I wanted to try white pastel on black cardboard.
It is a technique with excellent results, where you are confronted with the chiaroscuro in reverse, as you have to make the tones starting from the shadow rather than from the light, that is, the classic white sheet.

In classical ornate decoration, monochromes are widely used, with a multitude of subjects, cherubs, horses, flowers, festoons, architectural elements with a three-dimensional rendering that also simulate parts of architecture.
